Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has been awarded Best Airline in Africa by SKYTRAX 2022 – the airline’s fifth time in a row of winning the same award. Ethiopian was thus crowned at the recently concluded SKYTRAX 2022 World Airline Awards held on September 23, 2022 in London.
ET was also recognized in three other categories namely Best Economy Class Airline in Africa; Best Business Class Airline in Africa and Best Business Class Onboard Catering in Africa – the first two of which the carrier is winning for the fourth consecutive time. In addition, Ethiopian Airlines moved eleven (11) echelons up the list of the world’s elite airlines.
At the award ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ethiopian Airlines Group, Mr. Mesfin Tasew expressed satisfaction at the honors conferred: “It gives me great pleasure to witness such a rewarding event which was made possible by the hard work Ethiopian Airlines’ employees and its management team put in order to provide our valued passengers the best quality service. We are truly honoured by the multiple prestigious awards that Ethiopian won today”, he said.
The CEO further thanked everyone who made it possible for ET to bag the coveted awards, and promised that the airline will continue to “provide world class service” to the best of its ability, even as it continuously strives to keep enhancing its service delivery.

It accomplishes this through highly inclusive customer satisfaction surveys designed to allow travelers to vote directly for their preferred airlines in all the available categories.
