TAAG Angola Airlines has announced the full transfer of all its international flight operations to the newly inaugurated Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ), effective from October 19, 2025.

This move is a major step forward for Angola’s aviation sector, marking the completion of a phased transition plan that began earlier this year, positioning the new airport as the main aviation hub for Angola and a symbol of the country’s modernization in air transport infrastructure.

According to the airline, consolidating operations at a single airport will enhance operational efficiency, fleet coordination, and passenger experience.

“TAAG is proud to play a central role in this milestone for Angola’s aviation industry,” the airline said, noting that the relocation aligns with its broader strategy to develop Luanda and Icolo & Bengo as strategic hubs within Southern Africa.

From October 19, all international departures and arrivals, including routes connecting Lisbon (Portugal), São Paulo (Brazil), Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa), Lagos (Nigeria), Windhoek (Namibia), São Tomé, Maputo (Mozambique), Nairobi (Kenya), and seasonal destinations such as Porto (Portugal) and Havana (Cuba), will operate exclusively from Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ).

Domestic flights to Brazzaville and Kinshasa will continue as usual, as these routes are already based at the new airport.

TAAG advises passengers to plan their journeys to the new facility early, as it is located on the outskirts of Luanda, particularly around Bom Jesus, Icolo, and Bengo Province.

During the transition period, TAAG will provide shuttle services between the new airport and 4 de Fevereiro International Airport (ALL) to support mobility and passenger convenience.

The airline has also assured customers of continued updates through official channels and partner travel agencies.

TAAG expressed gratitude to its partners, employees, and stakeholders for their contributions toward the successful transfer. “This is a unique moment and the beginning of a new era for civil aviation in Angola,” the airline added.
