TAAG Angola Airlines hosted its first-ever End-of-Year Awards and Appreciation Luncheon on December 12, 2024, celebrating its key partners, clients, and supporters. The event, marked by a vibrant red carpet segment, highlighted the airline’s commitment to fostering strong relationships within the aviation sector.
During the event, the Regional Manager for Africa, George Mawadri, emphasized the importance of recognizing the support from the market, stating, “We are looking at having this sort of functions every year so that we can thank the market for the support that they have given us because we don’t take it for granted.” He acknowledged the tough years following COVID-19 and expressed gratitude to trade and travel agents for their unwavering support.
Top partners recognized included Wakanow, Goodnews Travels LTD, Santaguru Travel and Tours, Finchglow Travels, 247 Travels and Vacation Limited, Dees Travels, FCM Travels, Cinderella Travel and Tours, Quantum Travels LTD, and Victory Travel LTD. Special awards were also presented, such as the Digital Excellence Award to Wakanow and the Regional Excellence Award to Goodnews Travel and Tours.
Mawadri also shared insights into TAAG’s future plans, revealing that the airline expects to receive its first Dreamliner on January 8, 2025, which will expand routes to destinations like London. “We shall definitely expand to other European routes and Asia as well, including China, once we have the right aircraft,” he added.
The event featured exciting games and activities, providing a relaxing atmosphere for attendees. Other significant awards included the Best Growth Partner awarded to Satguru Travel and Tours, B2B Partner to Finchglow Travels, and Best Emerging Partner to 247 Travels and Vacation Limited.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Gloria Atumu expressed heartfelt appreciation to all partners for their continuous support of TAAG Angola Airlines. She emphasized the importance of collaboration and looked forward to greater projects in the future.
The luncheon concluded with a renewed sense of camaraderie and excitement for the coming year, as TAAG Angola Airlines continues to enhance its services and expand its reach.
It would be recalled that TAAG Angola recently took delivery the first of its Airbus A220 and is expecting another 14 next year.
Also, the airline has started operating passenger flights to Angola’s new airport, Dr. Antonio Agostino Neto International Airport, and expects to have all TAAG flights operating from the airport by the end of March 2025.
