Julian Anugom, Director of the In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) Platform at Delta Air Lines, has shared his inspiring career journey and highlighted his work with regards to in-flight innovation. Born and raised in Owerri, Imo State – Nigeria, Anugom’s passion for innovation and dedication have made him a key player in the aviation industry.

Before joining Delta, Anugom co-founded Connected Assurance, a consulting company specializing in connectivity solutions. His experience working with the airline as a consultant impressed him with the carrier’s customer-centric approach and commitment to innovation. “Delta actually loaned our team one of their Bombardier CRJ200 to test satellite internet connectivity back in 2021,” he recalled. “This level of commitment to innovation is unparalleled.”

As Director of IFEC Platform, Anugom leads the development and enhancement of Delta’s in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems. His team has achieved significant milestones, including the launch of Delta Sync Wi-Fi and Delta Sync seatback. Delta Sync, a connectivity system offering free internet access to Delta SkyMiles members, is currently live on over 700 aircraft. Delta Sync seatback, providing a personalized experience similar to a living room Smart TV, is live on over 330 aircraft.

Anugom’s team is presently working on a new internet system for regional aircraft set to launch early next year. The system will be rolled out to over 400 Delta regional aircraft, further solidifying the airline’s commitment to in-flight innovation.
