Ibom Airlines Limited (Ibom Air) successfully convened its first public Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 25, 2025, at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. The event brought together key stakeholders, including the airline’s shareholder, Governor Umo Eno, PhD.
According to Governor Eno, the public AGM was requested to demonstrate Ibom Air’s strong corporate governance and serve as a model for other state-owned enterprises in Akwa Ibom State. During the meeting, the airline provided a comprehensive overview of its operational and financial achievements over the past year, highlighting notable milestones in route expansion, fleet growth, and customer satisfaction.
Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob, the immediate past Chairman of the Board, expressed gratitude to the shareholder, the Akwa Ibom State Government, and the airline’s loyal customers for their continued confidence and support. He reaffirmed Ibom Air’s commitment to maintaining industry-leading standards in safety, on-time performance, and service quality.
The airline reported significant financial growth, with revenue increasing by 43% from N67 billion in 2023 to N96 billion in 2024. Operational profit also grew from a loss position of N3 billion in 2023 to a profit of N16.6 billion in 2024. Net profit in 2024 was N6.8 billion, compared to an N8.7 billion loss in 2023.
Governor Eno expressed satisfaction with the carrier’s performance over the past six years and assured the airline of continued support. He announced the appointment of Mfon Udom, the pioneer CEO, as the new non-executive Chairman of the Board, and George Uriesi, the current Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, as Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
The AGM concluded with renewed confidence in Ibom Air’s vision of becoming Africa’s airline of choice, focusing on regional connectivity, operational sustainability, and stakeholder value.
