It was a joyful day on Friday 25 November, 2022 for the staff and students of Lagos based Aviatrix Hub Training Institute, who witnessed the inaugural graduation ceremony of the school’s first batch of students.
Among the graduands from Lagos were Lydia Olodun, Jude Olayiwola , Angela Chukwu and Afoma Onyechi; and Ibanga Matthew, Ibrahim Nathaniel,Orungbami Shola, Ibeabuchi Princewill, Aizenabor Benedicta, Ukpong Sunday,Anyanwu Henry, Chukwuka Godsglory and Ezenwa Anita, who graduated in Enugu.
Present at the Lagos event was the first President of Flight Dispatchers Association of Nigeria (FLIDAN), Taiwo Raji; General Manager, Aeronautic Information Service (AIS), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Kabir Gusau; representatives of both Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN); members of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondence (LAAC) amongst others.
Speaking, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Accountable Manager, Aviatrix Hub, Mrs. Victoria Adegbe, expressed immense pleasure and satisfaction at the notable event, and called on the graduands to be steadfast and focused as they launch into their careers.
The Chairman of the occasion, Taiwo Raji, called on the gradating students to constantly be on their best behaviour, while striving to be pace setters in the field:
“Today is your day, and we are all sharing in your joy. I would like to advise you to be of good character as you go to work with others in diverse groups or organizations. Have the determination to be job creators and not job seekers; to fix the challenges and not create more; and to remain good ambassadors of your families and the Institute”, he urged.
Throughout the particularized twelve-week training (six weeks of Basic followed by six weeks of Advanced Flight Dispatch tutelage), the students were drilled in both the theoretical and practical facets of their course, even as the Institute received regular visits from observers from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), who showed up to ensure that the training was in line with industry best practices.
Adegbe divulged that the next batch of students will be graduating in December 2022. After making it clear that she runs an open-door policy, she went on to invite the graduands to reach out to her when necessary, as they go about exercising their duties in their various places of work.
Aviatrix Hub is an Aviation Training Organization (ATO) certified by the NCAA to dispense Basic and Advanced Flight Dispatch courses. Following NCAA’s approval, the school went on to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Eastwing Aviation Training Centre, Enugu, and today provides training for its Flights Dispatch students as well.
