TAAG Angola Airlines celebrated the African Women’s Day with a historic flight operated by an all female crew. This event was held with the aim of honouring and inspiring the growing role of women, particularly in civil aviation, while showcasing the tenacity of African women as being capable of succeeding in any professional context.
The flight was operated on July 27, 2025 on the Luanda-Johannesburg-Luanda route and flown by a crew of thirteen highly qualified professionals.
The 100% female-crewed flight is a demonstration of TAAG Angola Airlines’ strong commitment to gender equality and career opportunities within the company. The airline’s “People and Community” focus is one of the fundamental pivots in the airline’s corporate strategy, which also aligns with the promotion of its core values of inclusion, diversity, and meritocracy as success factors for an equity and innovation work environment.
Out of an estimated 2600 TAAG employees, about 69% are men, and 31% are women occupying multiple leadership roles in both administrative and operational areas.
It is also insightful to mention that at C-level positions, 50% of the airline’s Executive Committee under the leadership of the CEO, Mr. Nelson Rodrigues de Oliveira, are indeed led by women in the financial, HR & legal, and procurement global directorates.
