The President of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), Mrs. Susan Akporiaye, has expressed concerns over security breaches that have recently been recorded in some airports in the country, and has called on security agencies to stay on high alert at all times.

According to Akporiaye, it is imperative for the relevant aviation security agencies to closely and constantly monitor every corner of airports with effective surveillance equipment to ensure total efficiency; making sure to thoroughly profile all who wish to gain access to airport facilities.

“It is certainly strange to wait to be attacked before we can respond, so we must advise that relevant government security agencies in charge of critical aviation systems be put on the highest level of alert at the airports and it’s vicinities”, she said.

The NANTA boss went on to express her heartfelt condolences to the families of victims of the Kaduna – Abuja railway shootings, and enjoined the general public to stand united against criminal activities geared at propagating fear and destroying the unity of the nation.
