After much ado, United Nigeria’s latest jet – an Airbus A320 – finally touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday 12 December, 2021, and then taxied to Murtala Muhammed Airport 2, where it received the traditional water salute amid much fanfare.
According to Mr. Archillieus-Chud Uchegbu, Spokesman, United Nigeria, the new jet has a one-hundred and eighty (180) seat capacity – twelve (12) of which are Business while the remaining one-hundred and sixty-eight (168) are Economy Class seats – and will be deployed to Owerri, Asaba, Lagos and Enugu with the goal of boosting the airline’s operations to meet demand this yuletide.
“The airline understands that the service of a reliable airline is built around schedule, integrity and safety, which remain the fulcrum of United Nigeria Airline’s operations”, he said.
Mr. Uchegbu went on to confess that United Nigeria is pleased with the public’s positive response to its services, adding that customers’ demand for the carrier to extend it’s operations to other airports in the country prompted the airline’s decision to plan on commencing scheduled flights to Anambra and Osubi (near Warri) airports in the short-term, with the vision of adding even more destinations in the long-term.
The recently acquired Airbus A320 brings the airline’s total number of aircraft up to five (05), and is the first of its kind in a fleet which before now consisted of four Embraer ERJ-145LR jets – a much-anticipated development for the airline’s fast-growing customer base.
