After six (6) weeks of intensive training, one hundred and twenty-one (121) Aviation Security (AVSEC) trainees have finally come to an end of their program. The news was revealed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) – the training Authority.
According to sources, the trainees were selected from twelve (12) airports across the country including airports at Yola, Dutse, Sokoto, Kebbi, Jos, Abuja, Gombe, Makurdi, Maiduguri, Katsina, Kaduna and Zaria.
All the trainees scored above 70%, thereby meeting the prerequisites of the National Civil Aviation Security Training Program (NCASTP) for graduation.
It was gathered that the six (6) weeks training program was both intellectually and physically engaging, and included STP 123 Basic Courses in Protection of Parked Aircraft, Airport Emergency (basic fire prevention), Access Control, X-ray Image Interpretation, People and Vehicles, Screening Procedures, Cargo and Mail Security, Effective Communication, First Aid et cetera.
