Green Africa has received its third aircraft from ACIA Aero Leasing – the last of three ATR 72-600s. The recently acquired jet was delivered yesterday Thursday June 3, 2021 and bears the registration number ZS-XZC/5N-GAD.

According to sources, Green Africa’s choice of the ATR jet for its operations was based on the airline’s business model, with the goal of providing short-haul and reasonably priced connectivity on the airline’s routes, thus contributing its share in the revival of the aviation industry still recovering from the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement which reveals Green Africa’s readiness to commence operations, Babawande Afolabi, the airline’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer said: “Receiving our third aircraft today signifies Green Africa’s readiness to enter into service and start serving customers. ACIA Aero Leasing has been a very supportive partner, and we are proud of this relationship.”

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of ACIA Aero Leasing also expressed satisfaction with his company’s relationship with Green Africa, calling the airline’s mission “ambitious” as it strives to “create a better future for customers and other key stakeholders.”

The acquisition of its third aircraft implies that Green Africa has successfully complied with a major requirement of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for the procurement of an AOC by a novel airline – an event which brings Green Africa one step closer to kick-starting operations.
