Marriott Hotel Ikeja Opens for Business – By Daisy BARRO

Marriott Hotel, a newly constructed 5-star hotel in GRA Ikeja is now set for business. The project which is a product of the Marriott International-SIFAX Group conglomerate is the latest international upscale hotel in the vicinity.

The owners of the hotel revealed this in a recent media briefing: “Lovers of premium hospitality service in Lagos are in for an exciting experience as the Lagos Marriott Hotel – Ikeja opens its doors for business.”

Sources say the new property boasts of 11 floors, a 250-bed capacity, a 1000-capacity ballroom, a 400-capacity car park, a well equipped gym and executive meeting rooms among other amenities.

Janse van Rensburg, the hotel’s General Manager promises every client “an unimaginable premium experience” including “world class hospitality” services. He also divulged that clients who have gained points for patronizing the Marriott Hotel franchise can now redeem their points here in Lagos.

Speaking also at the event was Chike Ogeah, MD, Mac-Folly Hospitality Ltd, a subsidiary of SIFAX Group. Mr. Ogeah lauded Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, the Executive Vice Chairman of SIFAX Group for the materialization of the multi-billion naira investment:

“The building of this hotel took us six years. We took our time to tastefully select all the material and equipment that were used in order to serve our clients the best”, Mr. Ogeah said.

He went on to note that Dr. Taiwo Afolabi decided to build this Marriott Hotel in Lagos in order to promote the hospitality and tourism industry in Nigeria; and to provide opportunities to further improve the economy.
