
Dana Air, one of the major players on the Nigerian aviation scene has showcased its commitment to advancing national economic growth efforts by recently supporting the hosting of the 14th Annual Banking and Finance Conference.
The conference which was hosted by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) was held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel – Abuja and had as theme, “Economic Recovery, Inclusion and Transformation: The Role of Banking and Finance.” In attendance were key state dignitaries like the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, just to name a few.
The Chief Executive Officer of Dana Air, Jacky Hathiramani who was represented by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kingsley Ezenwa expressed the airline’s delight at being a key supporter of the initiative, and thanked the Vice President, the CBN Governor and others for their support:
“We thank the Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo for his presence and support; the Central Bank Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele; the CIBN President, Dr. Bayo Olugbemi and the Chairman, Body of Banks’ CEOs, Dr. Herbet Wigwe for putting up a strong commitment towards Nigeria’s economic recovery and growth. Aviation is a key driver of any economy and we understand the role that the banks and financial institutions play, not only in our own industry – the aviation industry in terms of accessibility and financial inclusion, but towards achieving a faster economic recovery and transformation, which is the aim of this present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.”
On his part, the Vice President voiced his appreciation for all the efforts put in by Dana Air towards the betterment of the Nigerian economy, and urged the CIBN to continue its own efforts towards attaining sustainable economic growth for the nation.
