The maiden edition of the Aviation Youth Webinar organized by AeroTribe Limited was held on Wednesday August 28, 2025.
The theme of the forum was, “Youth & the Future of Aviation Industry: Youths Perspectives on Nigeria’s Aviation Industry.”
The initiator of the webinar, Mr. Olalekan Sarumi said the Webinar was put together to highlight the challenges youths face in following careers in aviation as well as finding solutions to the problem by connecting the youths with seasoned aviators to share their stories and experiences as well as offer suggestions on how to overcome the hurdles they face.
The webinar therefore allowed Nigeria’s aviation industry experts and young professionals to examine the future of aviation in Nigeria.
Keynote speakers include Engr. Wale Odutola the Aviation Techniks & Trainings International (Attair) and Captain Wale Oke, a former Captain with Nigeria Airways, who both shared insights on building the next generation of Nigerian aviators and shaping for the future.
There was also a panel session which scrutinized trends in relations to growth, youth inclusion and participation, barriers, innovations, and global competition in the aviation industry.
Members of the panel include: Engineer Akinrotoye Samuel of Eastwind Aviation; Mrs. Annie Ojewunmi, known as the Airplane Girl from Airpeace; and Mr. Ozoilo Rex a 300-level student of Afe Babalola University . The moderator of the panel session was Miss Archibong Joy from Aerocontractors.

- Opportunities for youth to contribute to aviation beyond flying.
- The potential for technology and innovation to drive growth and competitiveness in the industry

- Foster innovation and technology adoption in the aviation industry
- Promote youth inclusion and diversity in aviation careers
The webinar highlighted the need for a mandate regarding the affordability of aviation trainings, and the embrace of STEM in the country.
Also, it highlighted the need for collaboration to address the challenges and opportunities in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
