Africa World Airlines (AWA) recently held an Agency Forum for travel Agents in the country. The airline’s Management team took time out to engage the top one hundred agents on its services and operations and used the opportunity to thank them for their support in the 2022/2023 financial year.
In an effort to show its appreciation for their productivity and impressive sales performance, the airline went on to reward the top ten (10) travel agents with special recognition awards and gift items. Topping the list with the highest sales performance was Wakanow, closely followed by Satguru Travels and Quantum Travels in second and third places respectively.
Other successful award recipients were Finchglow Travels in 4th place; Touchdown Travels, 5th with Dees Travels and Tours coming in 6th place. In 7th place was American Express; then Blueberry Travels, 8th; Waheguru Travels, 9th and Super International Travels taking 10th place.
Apart from the awards given to the travel agencies, Africa World Airlines also rewarded three (3) agency staff with what it tagged as the On-Time Performance (OTP) Award. The award was presented to the first three participants at the event to arrive at the venue. The awards went to Mr. Ede Monday Martins of Ibat Travels, Mr. Ajibade Ajibola of Super International Travels, and Miss Success Usiabulu of Peaches Travels.
Mr. Jonathan Appiah, AWA’s Head of Commercial, thanked the travel agents for their efforts and for helping to improve the airline’s overall performance in the outgoing financial year. He added that in an effort to continue to encourage them to up their game and performance in the coming years, the airline plans to offer more incentives to travel agents by segmenting the market with targets in three levels including Platinum, Gold and Silver Awards.
In a related development, AWA used the forum to engage travel agents present on a feedback session with regards to upgrade of its services as well as address various concerns they might have. The Airline’s Country Manager, Nigeria, Mr. Kingsley Chima; Manager Marketing, Mrs. Joselyn Andoh; Mr. Eric Obeng, Manager e-Commerce; and Sales & Marketing Supervisor, Nigeria, Mrs. Victoria G. Fiewor all took turns to update participants on the changes the airline has made with regards to its PSS for distribution from Radix to KIU (Knowledge In Use) as well as significant improvements made on its online payment systems.
Question and Answer sessions also allowed participants to share their thoughts and experiences on the strengths and challenges they face with the use of the new PSS and to get their concerns addressed.
