In line with its mission to connect Africa and the world, Ethiopian Airlines has taken steps to expand westward, as the carrier is preparing to launch its latest route, Addis-Ababa – Atlanta on May 16, 2023; its fifth destination in the United States following Washington, Chicago, Newark and New York.

Commenting on the development, Ethiopian’s Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew said, “We have been connecting the U.S. and Africa for 25 years now and the new service will help boost the investment, tourism, diplomatic and socioeconomic bonds between the two regions. As a pan-African carrier, we are committed to further expand our global network and connect Africa with the rest of the word. We are also keen to better serve the U.S. by increasing our destinations and flight frequencies.”

On his part, the General Manager, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Balsam Bheodari had this to say: “As the world’s busiest and most efficient airport, our mission is to deliver excellence while connecting our community to the world. This new partnership with Ethiopian Airlines expands that connectivity and access for our passengers and further solidifies our position as an industry leader. We are thrilled to welcome Ethiopian Airlines to ATL.”

With ET already plying more than 130 international cargo and passenger routes, the airline’s latest destination is yet another laudable achievement which promises to provide the carrier’s customers more travel options while also giving them the opportunity to experience the exciting and vibrant cities of Atlanta and Addis-Ababa.
