The newly appointed directors of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have pledged their dedication to serving the nation in their various capacities. They did this during the handover of notes ceremony which occurred recently at the headquarters of the NCAA in Abuja.

The following were newly appointed: Bahagio Agio, Director, Licensing and Training Standards; Capt. Chris Najomo, Director of Air Transport Regulations; Alhaji Adamu Wakili, Director, Human Resources and Administration; Engr. Ajiboye Isiaka, Director of Air Worthiness Standards.

Speaking at the ceremony was Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Director General of NCAA, who called on the new directors coming from the private sector to be patient in order to learn how things are done in the civil service, as such knowledge takes time to acquire. The DG went further to divulge that plans are being made to commence in-house training in order to facilitate their transition into the civil service.

Making reference to Adamu Wakili’s thirty-five (35) years of experience in the civil service, Capt. Nuhu commented thus: “We need experienced civil servants to guide us on matters of civil service rules and regulations, to ensure that we keep the boat in the correct way. We don’t want to run foul of any government rules or regulations. He is a very, very good addition to the NCAA and we really welcome him.”

The Directors took turns to respond, during which they promised the NCAA boss to work diligently and to play by the rules.

Capt. Najomo who said the appointment came to him as a surprise thanked the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika for the appointment, calling it “well deserved” while confessing his readiness to put in his best.

Mr. Alhaji Wakili on his part, had this to say: “I consider you my boss; my leader and I promise to give you 100 plus loyalty by God’s grace and ensure we go by the rules”.
