The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has taken a significant step towards enhancing the aviation sector’s growth by launching a dedicated Aviation Hub. The institute’s Governing Council has appointed seasoned aviation expert, Basil Agboarumi, as the Chairman of the Management Committee for the newly established sector initiative.
Agboarumi’s extensive experience in the aviation sector, including his tenure as Managing Director of Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC and Executive Director of Corporate and Governmental Affairs at SIFAX Group makes him an ideal candidate to lead the hub, which aims to promote excellence and highlight the vital role of public relations in the aviation industry in Nigeria.
The Management Committee comprising 5-7 members will oversee the hub’s operations under Agboarumi’s leadership. The committee’s inauguration took place virtually on August 29, 2024 with NIPR National President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, presiding over the ceremony.
Other key appointments include Mrs. Thelma Okoh (Maritime Hub); Mr. Rasheed Bolarinwa (Finance Hub); Dr. Jossy Nkwocha (Energy Hub); Miss Chimdi Neliaku (Young Practitioners Hub) as well as Dr. Ahmad Sajoh (Anti-Corruption and Consumer Protection Hub).
With Agboarumi’s leadership, the NIPR Aviation Hub is well-positioned to drive meaningful progress and advancement in Nigeria’s aviation sector, leveraging his expertise to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence among stakeholders.
