A delegation from Air Peace, Nigeria’s biggest indigenous carrier, has embarked on a four day business trip to Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbeans. The delegation departed from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport – Lagos on August 5, 2023 aboard the Airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft with Registration Number 5N-BW1 on a mission to seek out investment opportunities that will drive economic growth for the nation.

Speaking on the development, the Spokesperson for Air Peace, Stanley Olisa, noted that though the flight was the first of its kind, being that it is the first non stop direct flight by a Nigerian carrier to Antigua and Barbuda, it wasn’t an inaugural flight. He however divulged that preparations are underway for the carrier to commence scheduled flight operations to the Caribbean nation in the near future.

Mr. Olisa added that the trip was organised to offer potential investors a glimpse at the opportunities for investment in Antigua and Barbuda, especially in the tourism sector – opportunities which if taken will boost economic activity and growth in both Nigeria and Antigua.

The trip, which was strategically planned during the Antigua Carnival 2023 (July 22 to August 8) provides a rare opportunity for business negotiations between Air Peace and the Government of Antigua, as well as a perfect opportunity for the delegation from Air Peace to partake in and experience the island’s rich culture.
